The standing poses of yoga ground us while they help us build strength and endurance. They improve our balance and our posture and help us open up and become more flexible. Understanding how subtle movements of hips, legs, and feet give us the strong foundation
can make these poses feel right and easily doable.
Despite what we sometimes think, standing poses are the easiest way to open up the big muscles of the hips and thighs that keep us mobile. Learning the little tweaks and understanding the function can make these poses really work for us.
