Ayurveda: The Yogic Science of Health, taught by Pattie McCann.
This workshop is usually held as a paid class, but is a free offering by Teacher Pattie as a gift to the community during this time of imbalance and disruption.
Ayurveda, the 5,000 year old sister science of yoga, is the oldest practiced system of health in the world. And it says that because humans are composed of the same elements as the rest of the universe, our health lies in understanding how our own qualities balance with the world around us.
The goal isn’t to treat disease, so much as to prevent dis-ease (literally the lack of ease in the body). Our diet, routines, and asana practice can support us---creating harmony and balance in our system---or sabotage us. We’ll take time to learn our own nature and then look for the strategies that help us attain optimal health in a natural way.
We won’t practice asana, this is just discussion, and everyone is welcome.
