AYURVEDA for SUMMER: The Season of Pitta
with Pattie McCann ERYT
Friday, June 20th / 6:30 - 8pm / $20
Ayurveda, the longest consistently practiced science of health and sister study to yoga, is based on maintaining balance by finding a flow with the daily and seasonal rhythms of nature. So as seasons change, knowing our own nature, we make small changes to our diet and habits to assure that we optimize our health.
Summer is the season of pitta dosha—in the world around us and within us—and that means hot and intense. If your own nature runs hot, how do you keep your cool in July?
If you tend to run cold, how do you make the most of an energizing season? Summertime will stimulate different things in each of us. Ayurveda which posits that like attracts like and opposites create balance, has suggestions for simple things that can help each of us make the most of the season.
If you don’t know anything about the three doshas or what that means, we’ll learn a little. We’ll discuss some diet and lifestyle prescriptions for summer which you can easily incorporate into your days and share some good and simple recipes too.
