do i need yoga experience?
Having a consistent practice is really helpful — but not required. Even a beginning student will be enriched by the training. If you have limited experience with yoga or with our studio, you may want to take advantage of our 10 unlimited days for $10 get a little more familiar with our style. Or just come to our informal Open House on June 30 to tour the studio! As soon as you register for the program, you can start Free Unlimited Yoga at Strongheart, which is included in your tuition.
what will i learn?
Our goal at Strongheart Yoga is to qualify teachers to comfortably teach a wide range of students. Our focus is on breath + movement classes at all levels. We begin with Short Form Ashtanga, then learn the free-style sequencing of Vinyasa and Slow Flow. We will transition to Basic Flow Hatha. There are also segments for teaching Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and Chair Yoga.
The curriculum covers asana, anatomy, pranayama, meditation, philosophy & psychology, yoga lifestyle, and teaching methods. We don’t just do theory, we’re all about practical experience. Every trainee has a chance to live what they learn.
can i explore the studio?
Come to our informal Open House on June 30 and have a cup of tea with us. You’ll have a chance to tour the studio, meet Pattie, and ask any questions you may have. All are welcome, no matter where you are on your journey.
what is the course calendar?
The upcoming session starts on October 20 and runs through February 9. Classes are held on Friday evenings from 7:15-8:45pm, and on Sundays from 11am-5pm. We will take a couple of breaks around the winter holidays to give you time off with family. what our Trainees are saying
“Thank you for sharing your passion for yoga with me over the last few months. I could not have chosen a better time in my life to dive deeper into my practice and it has truly transformed my life. I’m forever grateful for your guidance.”
“My teacher training experience at Strongheart Yoga was amazing. Pattie, the owner and instructor of the studio, made a positive difference in my life and practice. Her knowledge, warmth and passion about yoga inspired me not only to learn, but to find my voice as a person and as a yoga teacher. Thank you Pattie for seeing me as a unique individual and helping achieve my goal.”
“With just a desire to know more about this practice that came to be so important to me, I registered for teacher training at Strongheart. And with a push from teachers, who trusted me more than I sometimes trusted myself, I realized I might be meant to share yoga with others.”

from the course instructor
“Over my 20 years of consistent yoga practice, I’ve felt yoga’s power to keep me grounded and at ease with who I most truly am. And over 13 years of teaching others, I’ve seen yoga awaken people to what’s possible for them when they break out of time-worn physical and mental habits that aren’t serving them.
Teaching and studying yoga is an exchange between individuals searching for answers to our most fundamental human questions. Having received so much wisdom from so many teachers, I hope I can give that to others in my own voice and watch them share it in theirs---all of us part of a long and beautiful tradition of self-discovery.”
